I know, I know

I haven't been around lately. I'm sorry. Summers are WILD for me. Well...let's face it. All the time is wild for me. With five kids running around the house why wouldn't it be? HAHA. I wouldn't have it any other way. :) LOVE IT!

We've been on vacations and just have some plain old fashion fun with the kids this summer. Beaches and rivers and pools..Oh my! It's been GREAT!! Though we are still running a bit, its not as much now. School will be starting back before too long and with that comes all those things you need to do. Like shop for supplies and clothes. Get the house back in order from all the vacations you have been on. So, that is what is going on here right now.

I am working on something new and I promise I will share more about it very soon. I know lots of you are heading off to DC next week for national's. I wished I could be there, but I'm not going to be this year. While everyone is gone take good notes to share when you get back. :) I'm going to be getting all the things done here and start working on my WIP again. So, I can share things as well. It's time to get back to work and buckle down. :) Yep, I know play time is over. Oh well, I can plan some...but only if I get some work done as well. HAHA!

Have fun everyone!

Been on the Beach!

Well we have been at the beach for a while now. I'm getting back and back into my routine here at home. I have lots to share. So this week, starting Monday, I'm going to talk about a series I'm reading right now. It is a YA series and I briefly mentioned it on my last post. I've been reading the House of Night series by PC and Kristin Cast. I will be taking about the books I have read so far in this series. I'm on book four right now. Trying to make them last longer, for when I finish book five I'll have to wait until November for the next book.

Yes, they are good. :) Loving them and wanting more. It has been wonderful to get lost in these books and relax at the beach. See you all on Monday to talk about book one. Marked!

Reading

Well I did finish the book I was talking about the other day. It was a really good book. The picture is of the current release in the UK. Same cover as the one I have, just this one is a duo book release. :) It was a really good book. Go to http://www.robyngrady.com/ to find more about this book and others she has written. She is a wonderful author! It is called For Blackmail...or Pleasure and trust me this one is GREAT!!

I'm also reading more YA books lately. I bought one that I have been looking at for a long time now. I started reading it last night and I'm loving it so far. This is a mother/daughter writing team and from what I have read so far they pull it off well. I'm loving this book. I will give you more on it once I finish it. Then I'm sure I'll be getting the next book in the series. LOL. :D
So, what are you reading? Have you read these two books? I'll keep you all posted on what I think about Marked, but so far LOVE IT!
See you all tomorrow. :)

Filling the Well

I have to say that this week has been...busy and I'm tired. HAHA! I have done lots this week, along with nursing Little Man (he has strep). I think another is getting sick, she is coughing. It never ends.

Anyway, this week I have worked on six chapters of my book. I have read and did some crits for a very good friend, who is kicking my butt in gear. (see the six chapters I've done) The last two weeks of getting up early have really gotten to me and last night I was sooo tired. I still am, just not as bad as yesterday. But life goes on.

I just feel like I need to fill the well now. At least that is what most of us writers call it. It's when we need to stop to let our minds rest for a day or two. We all do different things. I like to read or watch a movie. I'm hoping tomorrow night the hubby and I can have a quiet dinner together. Then I'm ready to go. Weekends are busy for us, with all the kids. We like to plan fun things to do on the weekends because when they are in school we have to stick to a routine to get everything done. They have tons of homework and normally get done by 5. After that they can play outside or whatever, until its time to get everyone showers and baths.

But back to what I was saying. LOL. It's time to fill the well. My head is tired. Maybe I'm just needing to sleep for a while, but that isn't going to happen right now with three kids running around the house and then two more to get later to do homework. So, I'll set for reading a book. I have tons of books that I need to read. I've starting a new thing to get all the books and magazines read. I have a little basket thingy and I have put some books and magazines that I want to read in it. I have to read all of them before going to the next set of books that I want to read. This way I can tackle that mountain of books to read and not feel overwhelmed. All while filling the well so I can write everyday. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes. So far, its working. I've already finished one book, last week. I hope to finish this one today. YAY!

going too far

I wanted to share a book with everyone today. This is the post from bareasscottagewriters.blogspot.com from Friday. This Friday Jennifer Echols will be joining us at Bare Ass Cottage to talk about her book. I hope you can join us. :)

We thought today would be a fun day to talk about something we love. Books. :-)

Last Saturday was Heart of Dixie's Annual Readers Luncheon in Huntsville, Alabama. It was a day full of meeting new people, seeing those you haven't seen in a while, eating great food, and talking about books. I loved it and had a blast!

When it came time to buy books there was one book I wanted and lucky for me the author was there. What did I do? I went over to get my copy of her book. I was a happy camper and ready to start reading.

I came home with my goodies and book in hand. Then I grabbed my book and told my hubby, "I'm off duty." He laughed at me and said, "see you in a little while." Granted I was sitting on the couch in the room with him, but he stopped all the kids as they would come in and say, "Mom." He tended to their needs while I read my book. Got to love that, thank you baby!

I was HOOKED! I've laughed and gasped and loved every minute of this book. It is a MUST read for any YA fan. It doesn't matter if you are a YA or Adult this has a message for everyone. LOVED IT!!

MTV Books
Meg is ready to escape from her small town Hell hole. She wants nothing more than to graduate high school and never return, dispite her parents attempts to keep her trapped in their slice of Hell. But one night Meg's wild ways lands her in major trouble and close to death.
John is the tough cop he has always wanted to be. He follows the rules and makes sure others pay the price, which is exactly what he plans to do when he finds Meg and her friends breaking the law. He is determined to teach Meg a lesson she will never forget.
Only John wasn't expecting Meg to push his buttons and make him question his own choices.
Sparks fly between Meg and John as they push each other to the limits of no return. Will Meg push John's buttons too far and will John stop Meg before she goes too far?
Ms. Echols has a way with words. This book is full of excitement, romance, and so much more. Meg's voice is powerful and witty. I loved every page of this book and when I was done, I wanted more.
Make sure you join us next Friday when Ms. Echols stops by to talk about the book and the characters. I can't wait!

Good Morning!

I thought I had posted yesterday, but it looks like I didn't. Sorry about that it was crazy here and I didn't even sit down until last night.

Today I posted on http://www.bareasscottagewriters.blogspot.com/ about goals. We used my goals to show how to make plans to write. Join me over there and ask some questions. I would love to know what everyone else does and if you have some questions for me ask away.

Have a great day everyone. I will be back with a book review tomorrow. :)
